Making a flight request/reservation:

 How do I book a one-way flight?
If you select "one way" as your flight type, you only need to fill out the departure date. The system ignores any value contained in the "inbound date" field.

Tip: Some travel agencies offer lower round-trip airfares than one-way fares. In that case it makes sense to buy the round-trip fare and just not use the return portion. You can't get a refund for the unused portion though!

 Is there a way to book open-jaw or multi-leg flights?
Unfortunately not. HOTFARES does not yet support such searches, because most travel sites do not do it themselves. As soon as a majority of travel sites offer such a feature, we will integrate that into HOTFARES.

 What ticket class should I choose?
Many flights offer economy, business, and first class seating:

  • Economy class seating is in the main cabin area. This option usually yields the lowest airfare.
  • Business class seating is in an intermediate area between first class and coach/economy. This option usually yields a more expensive fare than Coach and is not available on all aircraft.
  • First class seating is in the cabin area nearest the front of the aircraft or on a separate level. It has the fewest and most comfortable seats, and offers upgraded meals. A first class fare is usually the most expensive, and is not available on all aircraft.

We show you only those flights that have seats available: all seats on the flight you're looking for have already been sold.

 How can I get a quote via phone or chat?
We give air-only fare quotes via our web search tool. Please place a request using oursearch tool. We will need your credit card authorization via that site.

 Can I use my frequent flyer awards or discount vouchers with HOTFARES?
You must contact the carrier directly to redeem mileage awards or discount vouchers.

 How do I request airline special assistance or a seat assignment?
If you need special assistance with a wheelchair, unaccompanied minor or a special meal, please contact the airline directly. Even though you have made a request with your booking, please confirm with the airline.

 Can I use a non-U.S. credit card?
At this time the only acceptable form of payment is a credit/debit cards with a verifiable US billing address.

Please check your email within 2 hours. If you do not receive an email, please get in contact with our Customer Service. Make sure to refer to the HOTFARES Request ID provided below.

Canceling a reservation:

 What if I need to cancel my flight?
If you made the reservation within the last 10 minutes, we may be able to cancel your reservation. Otherwise, you are going to have to call the airline directly to cancel. There will be a cancellation fee and most likely there will not be a refund.

 How do I change my date, time or destination?
If you would like to change your tickets, please contact the airline directly for a quote and availability. HOTFARES does not handle changes to tickets after issuance.

 How do I make changes to my ticket, such as name, date or to cancel?
Unfortunately, all tickets issued are non-transferable and do not allow name changes.

You will need to contact the airline for instructions.

Miscellaneous:

 I've just got an error message on the screen when I tried to complete my booking. What do I do now?
If you get to the last stage of your flight booking and you get a screen displaying an error message, please get in contact with us through our Live chat and tell us your name and which flights you were trying to book and at what time. Sometimes technical glitches cause this error screen to display even when your flight has been successfully booked. The HOTFARES team can do a quick search to make sure your booking has gone through and then advise you of your confirmation number.
